The extremely versatile vintage modern amp is presented with an unbelievably tidy control panel. But what looks at first as ´less is more´ design, emerges as simply a new direction in custom tailored sound composition! The unexpected sound potential that hides behind the few controls doesn´t shows on evidence of itself at first. Only when you begin to extensively work with volume knob of your guitar, will you notice that this amp can react to the smallest details and even with smaller configurations of this amp (with the resulting cleaner sound´) delivers a fat and powerful performance ´ making channel switching redundant. However, who ever rather leave their volume knob on their guitar alone, would be better off leaving the Vintage Modern Amps, and would prefer a modern multi-channel amplifier. The Vintage Modern Amps combine the vintage sound oft he 60s and 70s with features that we know and love from Marshalls of the time. Their sound potential, thanks to Dynamic Range switching, additionally covers the modern ground sound spectrum.
When Amp power, even at 50 Watt, is demanded, so that the KT66s can deliver their full quality even at small volumes, then the 2266B head is the right choice. With all Vintage Moderns, both Preamp volumes (cascaded gain control) work in different frequency ranges, which ultimately add to this heads enormous sound potential. For the 2266B and the 2466B head we recommend respectively the 425ABL and 425BBL cabinets, or, if necessary, cabinets with G12M25 greenbacks can also be incorporated.
